DIVERSITY

BROUGHT BY THE DIVERSITY COMMITTEE: Kassandra Dixon

Mission Statement

School psychologists create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between homes, schools, and communities. As our schools and communities become increasingly more diverse, the Georgia Association of School Psychologists (GASP) remains committed to meeting the needs of all students.

The Diversity Committee works to advance fairness and equity for all students, especially populations that are underrepresented and/or marginalized, by promoting nondiscriminatory and culturally responsive practices in schools. We promote professional advocacy and ethical practices to support students from historically marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds.

The Diversity Committee seeks to address systematic inequities in our schools and communities by:

  • Disseminating information
  • Facilitating constructive dialogue
  • Promoting policy, prevention, and intervention strategies
